Is Rattan Furniture Good for Your Health?
It’s becoming increasingly common knowledge that too much cleaning is bad for your health, all those chemicals and dust can be very damaging to your lungs and skin (great news for those of us who hate cleaning, you now have an excuse). So, it’s a good idea to choose furniture and household items that require little cleaning to help your health. Rattan garden furniture is very good for this as it requires little to no maintenance or cleaning.
Rattan garden furniture is extremely low maintenance and does not require regular cleaning. This is due to the unique weatherproof qualities of rattan which means it will not hold on to dirt from rain or damp weather, nor will it become mouldy like some plastic furniture. In fact, the only time rattan furniture really needs cleaning is when leaves create dirt, which can be simply dusted off, or when birds leave droppings when flying overhead, which can be cleaned with a gentle wipe down.
When wiping down your rattan furniture we recommend using a damp microfibre cloth, which is the best type of cloth health wise as it is the best way to pick up the dirt or dust on your furniture without just spreading it to a new location. For trickier dirt that has gotten in between the weave of the rattan then we recommend using a soft-bristle toothbrush to get into these crevices.
No chemicals are needed to clean rattan garden furniture, just water. If a stain is particularly tough, then you will only need to use a small amount of soap or washing up liquid. This means you will not need to irritate your lungs or your skin using harsh chemicals on your furniture.
Additionally, you will be able to avoid cleaning your rattan furniture altogether with a protective cover. Our range of protective covers are ideal for protecting your furniture from dirt such as leaves and bird droppings and are also incredibly weather resistant, stopping water from pooling on your furniture and protecting the furniture from dirty marks left by frost and snow.
Rattan garden furniture is particularly convenient when it comes to avoiding cleaning and therefore makes a great furniture choice for those with allergies and asthma who need to avoid harsh chemicals and dust.
