I keep whistling the old Crowded house song, ‘four seasons in one day’ around the office today. It was bitterly cold this morning and there were still some remnants of the snow from the weekend. It rained when I dropped the kids at school and now we are having flashes of bright sunshine!! I guess this is what to expect of a spring day? It is certainly nice to see the sun shining on our new rattan garden furniture.

We have been setting up the showroom with our new rattan garden stock over the past two weeks and it looks great! Well I guess I would say that as I have been one of the people setting up. I think it is now fair to say we have an extensive range of all weather rattan furniture on display. We have two showrooms dedicated to the rattan furniture and we even have some in the courtyard proving its renowned all weather status.

I have left some sets outside, uncovered for more than a year now just so that I can show our customers exactly how it will look as the years pass by. It is very difficult to see the difference between sets that have gone out last week and ones that have been left out throughout the winter. The only difference is signs of dirt. It’s actually quite difficult to see the dirt on the brown sets as there two tone shading makes it very hard for the dirt to show up. A little bit of hot soapy water and you would never tell the difference.

My next job is to clear out the warehouse of discontinued stock and make it available for the early bird savers. Check out this Santiago fire pit set for example. Dreaming of the summer sun on our Winchester Rattan Daybed.

I’m still organizing the showroom for the upcoming arrival of our new stock and this Winchester rattan daybed caught my eye. It was once a rotating daybed but a problem with the base has meant that we have used it for display purposes only. The time has come to clear it out to make way for the Jade and Diamond daybeds.

The Winchester once retailed for £599 but as this is a slightly damaged version we will be letting it go for only £250. There is only one so give us a call on 01296 334450 or pop in to have a look at our Aylesbury showrooms.

The Sun is shining and its time for a clearance. £299 Madrid Sofa Set anyone?

It’s a beautiful winter’s day here at Zebrano Rattan HQ. The sun is shinning brightly and yet there is still a chill in the air when you are in the shade. More and more people are starting to think about there garden furniture and it’s that time of year to revamp our showroom. I have been in the showroom today sorting out some of last years stock and think a little clearance might be in order.

First up is the Madrid four piece sofa set. I have one here that has been on display for the best part of a year. It’s in good condition but never the less is an ex display model and will therefore be discounted accordingly. Anyone who is interested in some heavily discounted ex display sets should pop along to the Zebrano Rattan showroom and snap up a bargain. The Madrid sofa set normally retails for £499 (at least!) but we are currently offering the ex display model for just £299!

The one thing I would like to point out is that the glass on the coffee table is missing so you may want to visit a local glassier to replace it. Apart from that it is in good order. Sending the customers to the Opposition?? Apple and Zebrano have got one thing in common.

Seems that lately more consumers are getting frustrated over the Apple’s maps applications and this has caused the chief exec to make a public apology.

Just recently, Tim Cook, Chief Executive of Apple, recognized the disappointments of their consumers over the maps software and suggested further that they should try their rival’s alternative products. The company was known to have issued a few apologies for the past few months which clients view as peculiar especially so that the apologies came from the chief executive himself. Included in this written admittance of flaws are those that tackle the error in retail stores, the mistake in the green ratings scheme and the interruption encountered by iCloud users. Most consumers think that Apple is now going out of their promise to give the best experience for them.

I thought it was interesting that The Chief Exec of Apple would tell his customers to try the opposition’s products. When I thought about it a bit more I realized that here at Zebrano Rattan we do that all the time! Zebrano pledged to provide quality rattan furniture with different sizes, features and shapes but with the same kind of paramount provision of relaxation and comfort.

Are the cushions zipped and washable? - Seems trivial but without this I wonder how long your suite will stay clean with beige or crème cushions?

There are of course many more points to look out for but I guess that can be discussed another day.

Apple is now viewed as the world’s largest gadget producer offering to us not only state-of-art technology but also inconceivable possibilities turned into reality. Being in the rattan furniture business for some 15 years, we have noted that among the most frequently asked questions was about how long our outdoor garden furniture could last. Some of our friends have had an unhappy experience with their previous garden suite, especially during extreme weather, and they did not want to experience the same from us!. Weather can sometimes be a little unfriendly and that could be harmful to outdoor furniture.

We have made sure that all of our rattan garden furniture is premium quality. They are all weather-proof because they are made from finest quality of PVC rattan. In addition, the PVC rattan is woven around aluminum frames, which really makes them resistant with a waterproof surface that can handle both sun and rain. The cushions can’t stay outside all year round so you will need to store the away. We sell storage bags that keep the cushions clean and all together. How do I look after your rattan in the wind and rain?

Care of rattan garden furniture in the winter months is very much in the minds of our customers at the moment. After yesterdays downpours I feel that rain is also very much a hot topic. (More like a wet topic, but you know what I mean) The sun is shining at Zebrano HQ at the moment but yesterday and last night we seen some torrential rain. Thankfully nobody was hurt although I have seen reports in the news that there has been lots of damage and injuries around the country. Here at Zebrano Rattan we send best wishes to anyone who has been affected by the rain and wind.

As far as the effect that all this rain will have on your rattan furniture there is good news. The rain will have had little or no effect on your rattan furniture suite. The all weather rattan is waterproof and therefore the water will have simply washed over your suite. The high winds that came with the rain are a slightly different matter mind you. If you have covered your suite then I suspect the worst that would have happened is that your cover may have been blown off. Zebrano Rattan furniture is manufactured using aluminum frames so the furniture is not that heavy. You may have been unlucky and had your suite blown over. The more I thought about the possible consequences of high winds and rain the more I felt that a few top tips may be in over to avoid any potential problems.

What to do in the event of high winds and Rain.

•   Pack your set close together and put on a furniture cover.
•   Secure that cover with extra rope to try and ensure that it stays on.
•   Place the entire set in a secluded corner of the garden that is shelter from the wind
•   Remove any potential hazards that may fall of the suite. (ladders, brooms, large plants etc)
•   Check any nearby trees for damaged branches which could fall on your suite.

All of the above are obvious but it is worth just having a look at the current location of your suite and making sure that there is nothing obvious that is likely to be caught by the wind and cause damage to the set.

Once you have done all that we advise that you wrap up warm and turn the heating up. There are often car crashes and stranded vehicles during nasty storms so we would advise you to stay indoors and stay warm until the storm passes. The storm seems to have already passed us but I believe it is expected to return soon. I hope this helps. Stay safe.

Its beginning to feel a bit Christmassy around these parts. I came in the office the other day and the girls had already put up some fairy lights around the beams. I think they may be putting the decorations up gradually! The children have been enthusiastically waiting for Christmas and have definatly bugun talking about it.

I think they would be really happy if you had time and ask them to go along to the traditional Christmas markets. You would see how bright their eyes would be while seeing all exposed Christmas related items varies from light decorations, craft, and children toys to delicious recipes. Here at Zebrano we have been invited to exhibit at one of these Christmas markets but we couldn’t help thinking that rattan garden furniture is not exactly festive. We don’t really do a great deal that is festive but how about putting your Christmas tree in one of our planters! Might be a bit tenuous that but they are all weather. Take your Zebrano’s garden planter that is made from a fully weatherproof PVC rattan and plant or place your Christmas tree inside. Either real tree or the artificial one is fine. Yes, you can plant real tree there and you need not worry as the planter have a hard waterproof inner to ensure that no soil is lost. And if the tree is artificial, this will help it looks more real.
